Serena is a successful British Dressage rider who has a clear passion for producing and training horses as well as being an inspirational teacher who works closely with her pupils to understand their goals and ambitions whatever their level.
Serena started riding when she was just 3 years old on donkeys at Hampstead Heath in London and also took part in some Pony Club activities as a child. Serena started work at a show jumping dealing yard when she was 14 years old where she backed youngsters, competed and worked as a travelling groom all through her teens. Serena also did some BE eventing, however when she bought a 10 year old ‘failed’ eventer she turned her hand to dressage.
Serena has bought all her horses as foals and has back and produced them herself. Her advanced horse is training Grand prix and has started competing at Inter 2, and her younger horse is just about to start at advanced medium. Serena has had numerous placings at Regionals at all levels from Novice to Inter 1, placings at Young Horse Championships, the Pet Plan Championships and the Winter Nationals and has also started at big tour this year.
As well as dressage Serena has enjoyed successes competing in BS and BE and has extensive experience in producing young horses for competition in all these disciplines.
Serena is a Group 2 rider and holds a UKCC Level 2 certificate, a child protection certificate as well as a first aid certificate. As a trainer Serena is extremely enthusiastic and is very happy to teach horses and riders of all abilities. She has a friendly sympathetic non-confrontational approach to her teaching and works together with her pupils to agree realistic target and goals through both clinics and private lessons. She also provides clear step by step homework from each of her training sessions which allows you to work in a focused way between lessons.
