We are super excited to tell you all that we have organised a Horse Agility Demonstration with Horse Agility Accredited Trainer extraordinaire; Sheila Jones on Saturday 6th April at Barcheston Grounds Farm near Shipston-on-Stour, CV36 5AZ.
Lots of you have mentioned that you would love to try something a little bit different with your horses and we thought this would be the perfect opportunity for you all to see what’s involved with Horse Agility with plans to put on some sessions with Sheila later this year!
So, what is Horse Agility?
“Horse Agility is a fast-exciting way to have fun with your horse without having to ride him, so it's great for horses that are unable to be ridden for behavioral or physical reasons, ponies that are too small for the owner to ride, or for people who can't or don't want to ride. It gives everyone the chance to compete without having to ride or spend hours preparing their horse for showing classes.
Horse agility comprises a variety of obstacles for the horse to complete, at the higher levels this is against the clock which makes it a great spectator sport in which to participate. Horse Agility tests your horse's physical as well as his emotional fitness and tests your ability as a trainer to keep your horse travelling safely over the course effectively and with style.”
The demonstration will start at 11am and last roughly 1.5hrs. It is £10 for members to attend and £12 for non-members.
Please note this venue is outdoors and as much as we would love to control the weather and guarantee blue skies and sunshine, you might want to pack a few extra layers!
